Leave terminal and walk about 250m on footpath up the road, turn right towards the car rental companies, follow signs to 'Te Atawhai Whenua Reserve' and walk through forest and bird reserve until you reach Nick Johnstone Drive and you'll see Cable Bay to the left on the other side of the road.
