Cable Bay Waiheke Island Reserve Syrah
2010 was an outstanding vintage on Waiheke. Low rain fall and small bunches with lower than usual juice all contributed to the wines showing excellent concentration and length.

Made with 98% Syrah with 2% Viognier the grapes were hand-harvested and crushed immediately, then cold soaked for 48 hours for gentle extraction of colour and tannin, fermented in small open top stainless steel vats, only the free run juice was run to French Oak for 24 months maturation. Minimal handling and no fining, this wine is an amazing expression of the site which it was grown.
