THE DINING ROOM
At Cable Bay our food philosophy is in keeping with our winegrowing philosophy. We are very conscious of our surroundings and seasonality, using the freshest seasonal produce every day.
Luxurious and elegant, our multi award-winning Dining Room has floor-to-ceiling windows that open out to stunning views across the lawn and the bay. This spectacular room was renovated by award-winning architects, Fearon Hay. With pendant atmospheric lighting and pale wooden tables, the room’s stylish surrounds embodies minimalist elegance. During the winter, we invite you to relax in front of the crackling fire, creating a cosy haven in the colder months.
We are proud to have created extensive organic kitchen gardens at Cable Bay, which supply our chefs with top quality, nutrient-rich food daily. This underpins our philosophy of garden-to-table, where we aim to serve the freshest, premium ingredients in our award-winning restaurants.
The fruit and veg we grow is changing all the time – anything from root veg, herbs and edible flowers to micro-greens, baby leaves, and heirloom fruit and vegetables. We’re even rearing our own chickens to lay the eggs we serve, and have a hive of bees to make honey and support our crop pollination. You don’t get fresher than that – from the garden to the plate within hours!
Supplementary produce is sourced locally, and we have cultured close relationships with our sustainable, environmentally-friendly meat growers and seafood suppliers.
Our talented chefs take inspiration from Waiheke Island’s terroir, the interplay with our elegant wines, and Auckland’s flourishing food culture to create cuisine that champions balance and flavour above all.
Lunch: Thursday – Sunday from 12pm
Dinner: Friday- Saturday from 6pm
